Dashboard unbelievably slow while Contango in use

Everything was fine until just recently. I don’t remember if I updated Contango or what, but now while I am in the dashboard, when Contango is the active theme, the whole dashboard hangs up. It’s stuck trying to contact design orbital for some reason and of course my host denies those connections. How do I stop it from trying to contact out? Right now it’s completely useless.

Try to disable Theme Update Notification via,

Go to Appearance > Contango Options > General Settings > Theme Update > no
