I want to use the Featured Pages and Posts on the front page, but I want the option to NOT use the excerpt. I want it to post the entire page (which is going to be a short blurb). Or in the case of one page, it is going to be a video and I want to embed that on the front page, not a link to the page. I am imitating the “blurb” with testimonials right now, but I really prefer the image layout of the Featured Pages.

So the short version of what I’m trying to get to is:
1. Embed a video on the front page of my Bandana theme
2. Get the image layout used on Featured Pages on a short blurb that is not excerpted. I want the entire page or post on the front page.

Ideas on how to achieve that?

Hi,

I will suggest to make your own Front Page template to achieve your desired results with maximum efficiency.

1. Embed a video on the front page of my Bandana theme

You want to embed vide in the site hero section ?
If yes, you can replace the logic with your video embed code.

2. Get the image layout used on Featured Pages on a short blurb that is not excerpted. I want the entire page or post on the front page.

Again the answer will be same. It need to customize the code.

PS: Please share your idea in an image. So, it might be possible that our developers will help you exactly.

Thanks

For the Featured Page, I’m wondering if I can have this format, but I do not want the Page Excerpted. I want the entire page here.

For the video embed, I actually want it just below the Site Hero section. What is the preferred method for creating my own front page template? I wanted to avoid updating the php if I could.
