Yes – you have to select default theme.
and nothing shows up under blog.
Have you completed the Step 3 of Tutorial ?

I am observing (http://sidewaysauthority.com/blog-2/) “blog-2” slug for your blog page. I will recommend,
– Delete all pages with “Blog” title and make sure to clear Trash as well. There might be two pages with Blog title in your website.
– Create new page with “Blog” title and it will have slug “blog”
– Now select the right page “Settings > Reading” (Please see the Step 3 of tutorial)
