Thank you for mentioning this plug-in. It actually solved both problems.
- With regard to Question 2, I am easily able to unattach an image from a post using this plug-in
- With regard to Question 1, the plug-in allowed me to unattach the fourth image from the post from the media library. Now when I return to the post, the fourth image is still inserted into the body of the post but no longer shows up in the flex slider. Problem solved!
