When i define which site is the starting site of my website the title of the site is always “Starting Site”. Even when i give the Site manually a different title. How can i change that?
Thank you for your help! Orpheo
August 21, 2016 at 7:27 pm #1750adminParticipantHi,
Site Title which is configured in “Settings > General” will be picked by script.
You may try Yoast SEO plugin to have more control on SEO Titles and Description.Best,

August 27, 2016 at 6:14 pm #1753orpheoParticipantSo this is the page i am working on..
http://www.aiakos.deThe problem is the title of the first page it says “Startseite” which is the german word for Starting page. I want the title of this Page to be “Home” or “About us” but when i change it manually it doesnt change as soon as i tell the template that this page is the starting page of my website.
August 28, 2016 at 6:18 am #1754adminParticipantHi,
I have visited your site home page. Title i am observing is “About Us”.
Whether it is static front page or blog posts page. Title and Tagline will be grabbed from Settings > GeneralBest,
August 28, 2016 at 11:03 am #1755orpheoParticipantHi admin,
i dont think i explained myself clear enough. Yes the title above the text is “About us” but the title in the header is “Startseite”. This is because i set the page as the starting site. Both titles should be the same because it is like this with all other pages. For example if you click on “Producers” the title in the header and the title above the text are both “Producers”
August 29, 2016 at 6:31 am #1756adminParticipantHi,
I think you want to set a Static Front Page for your home page. And, you want to have different Page Title and Document Title. Please follow the simple steps.
– Install and Activate Yoast SEO Plugin
– Got to Settings > Reading and set your Static Front Page and Posts Page
– Now, Edit the page you set as Front Page
– You will find Yoast SEO Metabox just below the page content editor
– Click on the title to set your document title – By default it will look like
%%title%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%
– Just click in the box and write your own document title.
– Update PageIn this way, you can have different Page Title and Document Title.
Currently at your blog home page i.e. http://aiakos.de/
I am observing,Page Title: About Us
Document Title: About UsThanks
%%title%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%
– Just click in the box and write your own document title.
– Update PageIn this way, you can have different Page Title and Document Title.
Currently at your blog home page i.e. http://aiakos.de/
I am observing,Page Title: About Us
Document Title: About UsThanks
October 4, 2016 at 2:57 pm #1757orpheoParticipantI think you are still not understanding what i mean. This time i added a picture in order to explain it better. Even though the document title and page title are “About us” in the Headline it still reads “Startseite” and i dont know how to change that.

October 5, 2016 at 4:52 am #1758adminParticipantHi,

Waiting for your response.
ThanksOctober 5, 2016 at 3:55 pm #1759orpheoParticipantYes, I do.
October 6, 2016 at 5:20 am #1760adminParticipantHi,
You need to use WordPress custom menus. WordPress custom menus are the power tool to control the everything regarding to menus. You can change the label STARTSEITE to anything else.
Following tutorial will be helpful to you.

October 12, 2016 at 2:31 pm #1761orpheoParticipantI tried it like its written in the Tutorial but it doesnt work. I think maybe it has to do with the translation because Startseite is a german word.
October 13, 2016 at 5:25 am #1762adminParticipantHi,
I think, default menu (pages) is appearing in the Primary menu location. You have not assigned any Custom Menu to the theme Primary Menu location.
Please follow the simple steps,
– Go to `Appearance > Menus`
– Click on `create a new menu.`
– Give a name to Menu like `Primary Menu`
– Click on `Create Menu`
– Now add some pages or custom links to this newly created Menu.
– Check `Primary Menu` location in `Menu Settings` under Theme Locations
– Save MenuYou are done. Now, you can alter menu items according to your choice.
