Slider doesn’t show up in widgets.

Hi,
Even though I created a slide, for some reason the slider option didn’t appear in the widgets panel. What did I do wrong?

Another question: when I add a logo to the header, two thin lines appear on both left and right edges separating the logo part with the rest of the header (the logo’s and header’s colors are matched). How can I get rid of them?
